A qualitative case study exploring the processes and criteria for presidential leadership selection in three United States higher institutions of learning.

Gabriel Nsiah

Leadership transitions in higher education significantly shape institutional identity, direction, and sustainability. The selection of a university president is a critical decision, yet the processes and criteria guiding these selections vary across institutions. This study seeks to explore how different institutions approach presidential selection, what criteria they prioritize, and how stakeholders are engaged in the process. Understanding these mechanisms is essential to inform best practices for transparent, inclusive, and strategic leadership selection in the U. S. higher education landscape.
