BSPH Program Introduction

Introducing you to our CEPH accredited degree, Bachelor of Science in Public Health, with a concentration in Health Promotion and Health Education. The Bachelor's degree in public health (BSPH) aims to improve human health through the development and application of knowledge that prevents disease, protects the public from harmful substances in the environment and promotes public health at the local, national and global level.

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health offers a concentration in Health Promotion and Health Education. The BSPH program is the first of its kind at the undergraduate level in the Adventist Health School System.  It is a rigorous, yet flexible science-based applied program that prepares students for careers in public health, medicine, as well as environmental health and social and behavioral sciences.

The World Health Organization recently estimated the global demand for trained health and social workers by 2030 will reach 40 to 50 million. Many of these roles will require academic training in public health. Public health is one of the fastest growing global job markets and at 糖心动漫vlog we take on the challenge to train public health professionals.

Program Highlights:

  • The BSPH program offers a versatile pathway that prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce or for advanced study in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, and other graduate and professional health programs. It also provides an excellent foundation for pursuing a (MPH) degree.
  • Graduates will be academically prepared and eligible to sit for the CHES® (Certified Health Education Specialist) credentialing exam, enhancing professional opportunities and career advancement.
  • Students may qualify for the 糖心动漫vlog Partnership Scholarship, providing additional financial support throughout their studies.
  • Study at the only Adventist university offering an undergraduate Public Health program, where faith-based learning is combined with hands-on public health training and service opportunities.

Health Promotion and Health Education:

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) with a concentration in Health Promotion and Health Education prepares students to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities through education, advocacy, and prevention programs. Students gain knowledge in community health, wellness strategies, disease prevention, health communication, and behavior change while developing practical skills in program planning, leadership, and public health outreach. Graduates are prepared for careers in hospitals, community health organizations, schools, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and corporate wellness programs as health educators, wellness coordinators, community outreach specialists, and public health advocates. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for health education specialists is projected to grow by 4% from 2024 to 2034, with approximately 7,900 job openings nationwide each year. Median annual salaries are about $63,000, with entry-level positions commonly starting around $42,000 and experienced professionals earning over $100,000, depending on location and specialization.
